Client story · Sydney Diesel Marine
A 2012 website replaced by a store, a portal, and a system built around the job.
Sydney Diesel Marine is an Artarmon-based Yanmar authorised dealer: mobile marine diesel service, parts sales, and rebuilt engine supply across Sydney and the NSW coast. NXT Innings rebuilt the site from a 2012 static page into a functioning ecommerce store, customer portal, and job management system.

The 2012 website
When the engagement started, the Sydney Diesel Marine website had been sitting more or less unchanged since 2012. No ecommerce, no mobile-first layout, no way to capture a job enquiry that gave Phil the engine model and location he needs before picking up the phone.
Phil and Laura were doing a lot of work by hand: paper work authority forms, manual job tracking, invoice requests to the accountant, and enquiry follow-up by memory. The business had outgrown its tools without replacing them.
What we built
The rebuild is a full production system, not just a new look. Everything below is live and in daily use.
Parts and rebuilt engine store
An ecommerce store for Yanmar parts, consumables, and rebuilt engine sales. Stripe checkout, customer accounts, and order history built in from day one.
Customer portal with no passwords
Customers log in via a one-time code sent to their email. No password required. They see their full order and service history in one place.
Digital Work Authority form
The paper PDF work authority form is replaced by a structured digital form. Customer details, vessel, engine, and authorisation are captured online and timestamped.
Internal job management
Phil and Laura have a private admin area: customers, vessels, engines, jobs, and line items, all linked. Creating a Xero invoice from a completed job is one button.
Yanmar engine series pages
Six engine-series pages covering the Yanmar lines Phil services, built for search: each page covers the series in his voice, with real specifications, structured for both Google and AI search overviews.
Service pages
Seven service pages covering the work Phil does most: mobile servicing, engine rebuilds, impeller replacements, fuel system work, and more. Each page is structured for local search.
The live site

What changed
- The 2012 static site is gone. The store, portal, and job system are live.
- Parts and rebuilt engine sales happen online, not by phone or email.
- Customers log in to see their own job and order history without calling Laura.
- The paper work authority form is replaced by a digital version with a timestamped record.
- Phil has job details, vessel, and engine in one screen when he picks up his tools.
